1. FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO FURTHER OR BENEFIT THE RESIDENTS OF SOUTHAMPTON AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE RESIDENTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN THE COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTEREST OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION, THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITION OF LIFE FOR THE RESIDENTS; 2. FURTHER FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF A COMMUNITY NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRE INCLUDING USE FOR MEETINGS, LECTURES AND CLASSES, OTHER FORMS OF RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION AND SERVICES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITION OF LIFE OF THE INHABITANTS AND TO MAINTAIN, MANAGE AND COOPERATE WITH ANY STATUTORY AUTHORITY IN THE MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF SUCH A CENTRE FOR ACTIVITIES PROMOTED BY THE CHARITY IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE OBJECTS.
