Charitable objects
THE FOLLOWING OBJECTS ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN BURY AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS:- 1)THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY BY FACILITATING THE PROVISION OF ITEMS AND SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS IN NEED THROUGH CHARITIES OR OTHER ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO PREVENT OR RELIEVE POVERTY; AND 2)TO PROMOTE THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR BY: A)PROVIDING A COMMUNITY HUB OFFERING WORK AND MEETING SPACE FOR THE PROVISION OF SERVICES BY THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR; B)IDENTIFYING THE NEEDS OF THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR AND ESTABLISHING PROJECTS OR POLICIES TO ADDRESS THEM; C)LIAISING BETWEEN CHARITIES, VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND OTHER GROUPS ON RELEVANT ISSUES; AND D)PROVIDING REPRESENTATIVES OF THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR TO ACT IN RELATION TO GOVERNMENT POLICIES AND LEGISLATION. (*THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR’ MEANS CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS. • CHARITIES ARE ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES. • VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS ARE INDEPENDENT ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR PURPOSES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE, OR A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY, AND WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED BY THEIR CONSTITUTION TO MAKE A PROFIT FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION. VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS DO NOT INCLUDE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OR OTHER STATUTORY AUTHORITIES. ) 3) TO DEVELOP THE CAPACITY AND SKILLS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITY IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY ARE BETTER ABLE TO IDENTIFY, AND HELP MEET, THEIR NEEDS AND TO PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN SOCIETY.
