Nova, based in North Kensington, offers holistic support via four programme areas: Education; Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG); Families, Children & Young People and Social Change. Our activities help people gain confidence, education, and experience, to fully participate in society to work towards a more inclusive society where all have an equal chance to get ahead, belong and be recognised.

Charitable expenditure
Some charities generate all, or a substantial part, of their income from investments which may have been donated to the charity as endowment or set aside by the charity from its own resources in the past. Such investments usually take the form of stocks and shares but may include other assets, such as property, that are capable of generating income and/or capital growth.
In managing their spending and investments charities need to strike a balance between the needs of future and current beneficiaries. They also need to take account of spending commitments that may stretch over a number of future years. To do this, charities will normally adopt an investment strategy designed to generate both income and capital growth. To maximise returns trustees may commit to investment strategies for several years.
Investments can experience large swings in value so trustees may, in a particular year, decide to realise and spend part of their charity’s capital or to invest part of its income.

THE RELIEF OF UNEMPLOYMENT AND DISADVANTAGE IN THE BENEFIT AREA, IN SUCH WAYS AS MAY BE THOUGHT FIT, INCLUDING THE PROVISION OF: - INFORMATION, ADVICE & GUIDANCE (IAG) SERVICES - SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING HARDSHIP - OPPORTUNITIES FOR VOLUNTEERING, WORK EXPERIENCE AND OTHER ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS IN GAINING EMPLOYMENT 3. THE PROMOTION OF SOCIAL INCLUSION IN THE BENEFIT AREA, BY WORKING WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, RELIEVING THEIR NEEDS AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY, IN SUCH WAYS AS MAY BE THOUGHT FIT, INCLUDING: - DEVELOPING THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES TO PARTICIPATE FULLY IN SOCIETY AND PROMOTING OPPORTUNITIES FOR DOING SO - HELPING TO ADDRESS DIGITAL EXCLUSION THROUGH CONNECTING THEM WITH AGENCIES ABLE TO GIVE MATERIAL ASSISTANCE - BRINGING THOSE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED TOGETHER TO MAKE A MORE EFFECTIVE AND JOINED UP APPROACH TO ADVANCING ISSUES WHICH CONCERN THEM - EDUCATIONAL AND AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS TO ENCOURAGE SERVICE PROVIDERS, COLLEGES, COUNCILS, INSTITUTIONS AND BUSINESSES TO INCREASE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ADAPT THEIR SERVICES TO MEET THEIR NEEDS. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE ‘SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PART OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF UNEMPLOYMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, POOR HOUSING, POOR EDUCATIONAL OR SKILLS ATTAINMENT OR BEING A MEMBER OF A SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DEPRIVED COMMUNITY
