Activities - how the charity spends its money
To build a brand new 1890s Victorian Mainline Express Locomotive, GCR 567, to haul vintage carriages on the preserved railways of Britain to recreate the sights, sounds and smells of Victorian Express travel. The group shall aquire technical data, generate drawings, refurbish donor parts, manufacture components, construct and commission the locomotive whilst explaining the history and engineering

3.1 TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN THE SUBJECTS OF THE MANUFACTURE, HISTORY, USE, SCIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING OF VICTORIAN/EDWARDIAN STEAM POWERED LOCOMOTIVES IN PARTICULAR BY: (A) CREATING A WORKING MS&LR / GCR CLASS 2 LOCOMOTIVE (NUMBER 567) TO BE BASED ON THE PRESERVED GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAYS LOCATED IN NOTTINGHAMSHIRE AND LEICESTERSHIRE. (B) EXPLAINING THE ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION OF A VICTORIAN STEAM LOCOMOTIVE AND INTERPRETING IT’S CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE AS AN EDUCATIONAL TOOL (C) OPERATING THE STEAM LOCOMOTIVE AS A WORKING HISTORICAL EXHIBIT TO ALLOW THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO EXPERIENCE THE UNIQUE SIGHTS, SOUNDS AND SMELLS OF VICTORIAN / EDWARDIAN TRAIN TRAVEL. 3.2 FURTHER TO THE ABOVE TO PROMOTE THE SCIENCE AND HERITAGE OF VICTORIAN/EDWARDIAN STEAM POWERED LOCOMOTIVES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT
