Viewpoint is an independent charity which has been running for around 12 years with the aim of supporting people to use their personal experiences of mental health and/or drug & alcohol issues to improve services. We do this in many ways from local forums and user representation to focus groups and user delivered training.

Charitable objects
THE PROMOTION OF MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY THE INVOLVEMENT OF USERS OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE SERVICES AND SUBSTANCE MISUSE SERVICES IN THE PLANNING, DEVELOPMENT, DELIVERY AND MONITORING OF THOSE SERVICES. THE PROVISION OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO HELP HEALTH, SOCIAL CARE AND SUBSTANCE MISUSE SERVICE USERS GAIN THE NECESSARY CONFIDENCE AND SKILLS TO EFFECTIVELY REPRESENT THEMSELVES AND THEIR PEERS. THE PROVISION OF A CONDUIT BETWEEN SERVICE USERS, COMMISSIONERS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS TO ENABLE COLLABORATIVE WORKING (CO-PRODUCTION). TO PROMOTE WELLBEING AND A WIDER UNDERSTANDING OF MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE MISUSE ISSUES.
