THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT BY:-
A) UNDERTAKING AND SPONSORING SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH INTO THE LIFE CYCLES, DISEASES AND PARASITOIDS OF LEPIDOPTERA FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC
GENERALLY IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY IN CORNWALL.
B) PROMOTING OR UNDERTAKING THE CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT OF LANDS OF ECOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC GENERALLY IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY IN CORNWALL.
