"THE OBJECT OF THE TRUST SHALL BE TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATION, TRAINING AND INSTRUCTION OF YOUNG PEOPLE FROM THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF WIGAN AND SURROUNDING DISTRICTS, IN THE ART AND CRAFT OF OUTDOOR PURSUITS AND ANY OTHER ACTIVITIES OF A PIONEERING NATURE AS A MEANS OF DEVELOPING THEIR MINDS AND PHYSICAL FITNESS.
