TO PROMOTE EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND IN PARTICULAR THE ELIMINATION OF DISCRIMINATION ON THE GROUNDS OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER IDENTITY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC BY: A) THE PROVISION OF FREE SPECIALIST LEGAL, ADVICE, ASSISTANCE AND REPRESENTATION IN THE FIELD OF IMMIGRATION LAW TO LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER PEOPLE WHO ARE UNABLE TO OBTAIN SUCH SPECIALIST LEGAL ADVICE, ASSISTANCE AND REPRESENTATION AS A RESULT OF THEIR LACK OF RESOURCES; B) CONDUCTING OR COMMISSIONING RESEARCH REGARDING THE TREATMENT OF LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER COMMUNITIES IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES; C) ADVANCING EDUCATION IN EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY RELATING TO IMMIGRATION ISSUES FOR LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER PEOPLE WHETHER BY TEACHING OR PRODUCING MATERIALS; AND TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND RELIEVE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AMONGST LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER PEOPLE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM WHO HAVE BEEN GRANTED REFUGEE STATUS OR WHO ARE SEEKING ASYLUM, PARTICULARLY BY THE PROVISION OF LEGAL AND OTHER ADVICE.
