Charitable objects
THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO PROVIDE ALMSHOUSE ACCOMMODATION TO POOR PERSONS OF GOOD CHARACTER WHO ARE NOT LESS THAN FIFTY YEARS OF AGE (EXCEPT IN THE CASE OF A MARRIED COUPLE WHERE ONLY ONE OF THEM NEEDS BE OF THAT AGE). IN SELECTING PERSONS, PREFERENCE SHALL BE GIVEN FIRST TO PERSONS RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF THE CIVIL PARISHES OF MILNTHORPE AND HEVERSHAM, SECONDLY TO PERSONS RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF THE CIVIL PARISHES OF HINCASTER, LEVENS, STAINTON, SEDGWICK, PRESTON RICHARD AND PRESTON PATRICK, THIRDLY TO PERSONS RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF THE CIVIL PARISH OF BEETHAM AND FOURTHLY TO PERSONS RESIDENT IN KENDAL AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITY DISTRICT OF SOUTH LAKELAND.
