Activities - how the charity spends its money
The charity provides facilities including a clubhouse and workshop for individuals with an interest in transport, model engineering and and model making to meet socially and share their interests. Also meet to work on maintaining the charity's facilities. We also encorage aged young people 12-16, to learn basic engineering, and train them to help operate the 'Prospect Park Railway'

Charitable objects
1) TO FURTHER OR BENEFIT THE RESIDENTS OF READING AND THE SURROUNDING AREA WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF AGE, SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID RESIDENTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITY, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE RESIDENTS. 2) TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 12 TO 16, ON THE SUBJECTS OF BASIC ENGINEERING, MODELLING SKILLS AND MINIATURE RAILWAY OPERATION, AND PROVIDE PRACTICAL SKILLS FOR LATER LIFE AND FUTURE CAREERS. 3) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN GENERAL, IN THE BUILDING, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF MINIATURE LOCOMOTIVES, WHICH ACCURATELY REPLICATE LOCOMOTIVES PREVIOUSLY USED IN RAIL TRANSPORT IN THE READING AND SURROUNDING AREA.
