THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO RELIEVE THE CHARITABLE NEEDS OF AND TO PROMOTE AND PROTECT THE GOOD HEALTH OF PERSONS WHO ARE SPINAL CORD INJURED, IN PARTICULAR BY: 1 PROVIDING GUIDANCE, ADVICE AND OTHER SUPPORT TO THOSE WHO ARE SPINAL CORD INJURED, THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS; 2 PROVIDING GUIDANCE, ADVICE AND OTHER SUPPORT TO STAFF AT HOSPITALS, SPINAL INJURY CENTRES OR OTHER ORGANISATIONS WHICH TREAT OR OTHERWISE SUPPORT PEOPLE WHO ARE SPINAL CORD INJURED WITH A VIEW TO IMPROVING THE CARE, TREATMENT AND SUPPORT AVAILABLE; AND/OR 3 PROMOTING SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING PEOPLE WHO ARE SPINAL CORD INJURED FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AS A RESULT OF THEIR INJURY, RELIEVING THEIR NEEDS AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY, IN PARTICULAR BY SUPPORTING THEIR PARTICIPATION IN SPORTS OR OTHER LEISURE-TIME ACTIVITIES.
