Bitternes Afloat organise and operate youth sailing holidays on the Norfolk Broads in the context of a Christian environment. It allows young people between 11 and 25 to learn a new technical skill, develop life and leadership skills in an environment that encourages them to explore the Christian faith. The core object of the Charity is to ensure that people of all means can take part.

THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS (THE OBJECTS) ARE TO PROMOTE THE CHRISTIAN FAITH, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE FROM THE MEMBER ORGANISATIONS/PARTNER CHURCHES, BETWEEN THE AGES OF 11 AND 18 YEARS OR SUCH OTHER YOUNG PERSONS AGED 11 TO 18 YEARS AS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT; AND TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OF SUCH YOUNG PEOPLE IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROVIDING AND ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF CHRISTIAN SAILING HOLIDAYS (INCLUDING INSTRUCTION IN SAILING AND IN TEAMWORK), ON BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE NORFOLK BROADS, WITH THE AIM OF NURTURING YOUNG CHRISTIANS AND PROMOTING THE CHRISTIAN FAITH.
