(I) TO PROMOTE, MAINTAIN, IMPROVE AND ADVANCE EDUCATION PARTICULARLY BY THE PRODUCTION OF EDUCATIONAL PLAYS AND THE ENCOURAGEMENT OF THE ARTS INCLUDING THE ARTS OF DRAMA, BALLET, MUSIC, SINGING, LITERATURE, SCULPTURE AND PAINTING; AND (II) TO PRESERVE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THE BUILDING OF HISTORIC AND ARCHITECTURAL INTEREST SITUATE IN HALIFAX PLACE IN THE CITY OF NOTTINGHAM KNOWN AS "THE LACE MARKET THEATRE".
