Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team operates under the aegis of the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation. It works under the control of local police forces to search and assist the police; in the Peak District, in wild & remote areas, in urban areas and in other areas when called upon to do so. All team members are volunteers. The team relies entirely on fundraising and donations.
