Charitable objects
THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY OR FINANCIAL HARDSHIP FOR THE BENEFIT OF COMEDY PROFESSIONALS, FORMER COMEDY PROFESSIONALS THEIR SPOUSES, CIVIL PARTNERS AND DEPENDENTS, WHO ARE IN NECESSITOUS CIRCUMSTANCES BY REASON OF SICKNESS, ACCIDENT OR INFIRMITY BY THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN SUCH AMOUNTS AND AT SUCH TIMES AND ON SUCH CONDITIONS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES IN THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION THINK FIT. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS ARTICLE A 'COMEDY PROFESSIONAL' IS DEFINED AS A COMEDIAN AND/OR COMEDY PERFORMER WHO MEETS ALL FOUR OF THE FOLLOWING TESTS: (A) HE/SHE HAS (IN THE SOLE OPINION OF THE DIRECTORS) DEMONSTRATED A COMMITMENT TO THE COMEDY PROFESSION; (B) HE/SHE IS, OR HAS BEEN, A RESIDENT OF THE UK; (C) HE/SHE HAS PERFORMED IN RETURN FOR PAYMENT IN/ON ONE OR MORE OF STAGE, RADIO, FILM, TELEVISION OR ANY OTHER MEDIUM THROUGH WHICH SUCH ARTS MAY BE PRACTICED; AND (D) HIS/HER PRIMARY SOURCE OF INCOME IS, OR HAS BEEN, AS A COMEDIAN AND/OR COMEDY PERFORMER.
