Activities - how the charity spends its money
The Charity runs the Isle of Wight Literary Festival providing the following benefits :- The opportunity at reasonable cost, for the Island public to enjoy a local literary experience with well known, new and local authors who deliver presentations based on their books and experiences. It also runs a programme to encourage greater participation in the written word amongst schools on the Island.

THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: A) TO PROMOTE THE ARTS FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, AND IN PARTICULAR THE ART OF LITERATURE, BY THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF AN ANNUAL ARTS FESTIVAL. B) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC BY PROMOTING AND PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE APPRECIATION, UNDERSTANDING AND ENJOYMENT OF LITERATURE.
