Charitable objects
JEENA AIMS TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY WORKING WITH PEOPLE WITHIN THE UK WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY OR PART OF SOCIETY AS A RESULT OF BEING A SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DEPRIVED COMMUNITY. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE ‘SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY OR PARTS OF SOCIETY ON THE GROUNDS OF THEIR ETHNIC ORIGIN, RELIGION, BELIEF OR CREED (IN PARTICULAR MEMBERS OF THE BME COMMUNITY). JEENA AIMS TO SUPPORT AND HELP IN PARTICULAR THOSE MEMBERS OF THE BME COMMUNITY WHO ARE FURTHER DISADVANTAGED AS A RESULT OF ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING FACTORS: SEX, AGE, SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER RE-ASSIGNMENT. JEENA WILL RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF SUCH PEOPLE AND ASSIST THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY IN PARTICULAR BY: 1. PROVIDING TRAINED ADVOCATES WHO WILL BE COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND WILL BE EMBEDDED WITHIN THE COMMUNITY TO SET UP LOCAL NETWORKS THAT ENCOURAGE AND ENABLE THE BME COMMUNITY TO PARTICIPATE MORE EFFECTIVELY WITH THE WIDER COMMUNITY. THROUGH THESE ADVOCATES JEENA WILL IDENTIFY AND SUPPORT VICTIMS OR POTENTIAL VICTIMS OF ABUSE FROM WITHIN THE COMMUNITIES; PEOPLE PARTICULARLY VULNERABLE DUE TO THEIR GENDER AND AGE. 2. JEENA WILL, THROUGH TRAINING AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMMES WITHIN THE BME COMMUNITIES, EDUCATE AND RAISE AWARENESS OF ISSUES THAT PREVENT JEENA BENEFICIARIES FROM PARTICIPATING FULLY IN SOCIETY. 3. JEENA WILL ALSO CREATE A PLATFORM FOR COLLABORATIVE WORKING FOR ORGANISATIONS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS, TO EDUCATE AND RAISE AWARENESS OF THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO ADAPT THEIR SERVICES TO THE BME COMMUNITIES’ PARTICULAR NEEDS, THUS PROMOTING A JOINED UP APPROACH AND ENABLING THESE ORGANISATIONS TO TAILOR THEIR SERVICES TO SUIT THE REQUIREMENTS OF THAT COMMUNITY. FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT JEENA WILL CARRY OUT THESE ACTIVITIES IN ORDER TO ASSIST IN PARTICULAR THOSE MEMBERS OF THE BME COMMUNITIES WHO ARE PREVENTED FROM PARTICIPATING IN SOCIETY DUE TO CULTURAL, GENDER AND LANGUAGE BARRIERS. THROUGH THEIR COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS JEENA WILL HELP PROVIDE SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES WHICH ARE DENIED TO THEM BY THEIR OWN COMMUNITY E.G. BASIC ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS, COMPUTER SKILLS, ACCESS TO THE INTERNET, CONFIDENCE AND ASSERTIVENESS TRAINING. BY DEVELOPING THEIR SELF-WORTH AND SELF-CONFIDENCE JEENA WILL ENCOURAGE ALL MEMBERS OF THE BME COMMUNITIES TO INTEGRATE FULLY INTO THE WIDER SOCIETY.
