Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY (“THE OBJECTS”) ARE, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT: 1. TO ADVANCE THE ARTS, AND THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE ARTS, THROUGH THE PROMOTION AND SUPPORT OF THE ARTS (INCLUDING MUSIC, LITERATURE, PERFORMANCE ARTS AND VISUAL ARTS) IN PARTICULAR BY THE DEVELOPMENT, CONSTRUCTION, AND RUNNING OF A CONCERT HALL IN WIMBLEDON AND A PERFORMING ARTS FACILITY WHICH WILL ACT AS THE FOCUS FOR THE PROMOTION AND ENCOURAGEMENT OF PERFORMANCES, BROADCASTS, RECORDINGS AND EXPLOITATION IN OTHER MEDIA OF WORK PRODUCED, AND FOR THE PROVISION OF EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS, MATERIALS AND OPPORTUNITIES TO FURTHER THE UNDERSTANDING, APPRECIATION AND PRACTICE OF THE ARTS AMONGST THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND SECTIONS OF THE PUBLIC (INCLUDING YOUNG PEOPLE); 2. TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION AMONG PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, BY: (A) PROVIDING TRAINING, FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT TO ENABLE THOSE PERSONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ARTS; AND (B) RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES OF THOSE PERSONS AND ENCOURAGING AND FACILITATING INCLUSIVE PARTICIPATION IN THE ARTS; FOR THIS PURPOSE “SOCIALLY EXCLUDED” MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM FULL PARTICIPATION IN SOCIETY, OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF A PHYSICAL, SENSORY OR MENTAL DISABILITY, YOUTH OR OLD AGE, UNEMPLOYMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, RACE, GENDER, POOR EDUCATIONAL SKILLS OR ATTAINMENT, ETHNIC ORIGIN OR WHO ARE WITHIN, OR WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED, THE PUBLIC CARE OR PENAL SYSTEM.
