Charitable objects
The charity’s objects (‘objects’) are specifically restricted to the following: AVSED is established for the benefit of, in particular but not exclusively, older people, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions, living in the community of Aireborough, Leeds, for the following charitable purposes: 1) For the public benefit to relieve the charitable needs, in particular but not exclusively, by relieving loneliness and isolation, supporting independence and promoting improved health and wellbeing of older people. 2) To further or benefit the residents of Aireborough and the neighbourhood, by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation to improve the conditions of life for all residents. 3) To preserve and protect the health of those caring for people with physical, mental or sensory impairment within the family or home by offering a respite service through the provision of community-based services. 4) The prevention or relief of poverty in Aireborough by providing grants, items and services to individuals in need and/or charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty, or improve health and well-being.
