THE OBJECTS OF THE DURHAM MUSIC TRUST CIO ARE: TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC, WITH A FOCUS ON CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE, IN THE ART AND SCIENCE OF MUSIC IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY IN COUNTY DURHAM AND DARLINGTON BY RAISING CAPITAL AND REVENUE FUNDS TO: 1. SUPPORT YOUNG PEOPLE IN THEIR MUSICAL ENDEAVOURS THROUGH A RANGE OF MUSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMMES; 2. SUPPORT DURHAM MUSIC SERVICE STAFF WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO ENHANCE THEIR SKILLS TO HELP THEM TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF MUSIC; 3. CREATE EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SPECIAL MUSICAL EVENTS, WORKSHOPS AND MUSICAL PERFORMANCES; 4. OFFER CUSTOMISED MUSIC PROGRAMMES FOR PUPILS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS; 5. CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR MORE ABLE AND VERY TALENTED PUPILS TO PARTICIPATE IN MASTER CLASSES; 6. PURCHASE INSTRUMENTS TO LEND TO PUPILS; 7. ALLOW FINANCIALLY DISADVANTAGED PUPILS TO COVER MUSIC FEES AND TRAVEL COSTS; 8. ENHANCE THE MUSICAL SERVICES PROVIDED BY DURHAM MUSIC SERVICE TO ADVANCE THE MUSICAL EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN PARTICULAR;
