THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE 1.TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HULL AND EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE IN THEIR UNDERSTANDING, KNOWLEDGE, APPRECIATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF BOTH TRADITIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY FOLK MUSIC AND ASSOCIATED ART FORMS OF SONG, SPOKEN WORD, DANCE AND FURTHER RELATED ARTISTIC WORKS OF THE FOLK GENRE, BY MEANS OF PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY FOR LOCAL FOLK ACTS TO PERFORM AT CONCERTS, FESTIVALS AND OTHER EVENTS. NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008]
