1) TO ADVANCE THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION IN THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE HOLY SCRIPTURES, THE CATHOLIC CREEDS, AND THE HISTORIC FORMULARIES OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND, NAMELY THE THIRTY-NINE ARTICLES OF RELIGION, THE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER AND THE ORDERING OF BISHOPS, PRIESTS AND DEACONS. 2) SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AS ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES AS THE TRUSTEES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME DETERMINE.
