Established in 1990, WAA (Wirral Asian Association) is a non-political, non-profitable cultural organisation for the people of Asian origin residing within the area of Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council. We intend to bring the community together and help us to tackle the common issues that as Asian may face w.r.t education, jobs, housing and health, by organising events to raise awareness.

Charitable objects

TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF ASIAN ORIGIN LIVING ON THE WIRRAL MERSEYSIDE AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID INHABITANTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTEREST OF ASIAN CULTURE, SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS; WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES. TO ESTABLISH, OR SECURE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY CENTRE AND TO MAINTAIN AND MANAGE THE SAME (WHETHER ALONE OR IN CO-OPERATION WITH ANY LOCAL AUTHORITY OR OTHER PERSON OR BODY) IN FURTHERANCE OF THESE OBJECTS. THE ASSOCIATION SHALL BE NON-PARTY IN POLITICS AND NON-SECULAR IN RELIGION.
