StopSO UK is an independent national charity which aims to reduce sexual abuse in the UK. We offer 1-2-1 face to face therapy to those concerned or worried about their sexual thoughts or behaviour before an offence is committed, and to victims and survivors of sexual abuse. Therapy is delivered in communities across the UK.

Charitable objects
1. THE REDUCTION OF CRIME BY PROVIDING ACCESS TO THERAPEUTIC TREATMENT FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE STRUGGLING WITH SEXUALLY INAPPROPRIATE THOUGHTS AND BEHAVIOUR AND LIKELY TO COMMIT A SEXUAL OFFENCE, OR RE-OFFEND SEXUALLY. THIS WILL BE DONE THROUGH THE PROVISION OF THERAPY PROVIDED BY A UK WIDE NETWORK OF STOPSO TRAINED PSYCHOTHERAPISTS, COUNSELLORS AND SUPERVISORS. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE, 'PROVIDING ACCESS' MIGHT INCLUDE PROVIDING FREE OR SUBSIDISED THERAPY OR COUNSELLING TO THOSE WHO THROUGH LACK OF MEANS WOULD OTHERWISE BE UNABLE TO OBTAIN SUCH SPECIALIST TREATMENT. 2. THE RELIEF OF MENTAL HEALTH DISTRESS BY THE PROVISION OF THERAPEUTIC TREATMENT FOR FAMILY MEMBERS, PARTNERS OR CLOSE FRIENDS OF THOSE WHO HAVE SEXUALLY TROUBLING THOUGHTS AND ARE AT RISK OF COMMITTING A SEXUAL OFFENCE OR RE-OFFENDING BY THE PROVISION OF PSYCHOTHERAPY AND COUNSELLING. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE, 'FAMILY MEMBERS' MEANS, THOSE LIVING WITH OR IN A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PERSON WHO MAY COMMIT OR HAS COMMITTED A SEXUAL OFFENCE. 3. TO ADVANCE PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION IN ALL THEORY RELATED TO SEXUAL OFFENDING, INCLUDING CAUSES, PREVENTION AND TREATMENT BY PROVIDING TRAINING COURSES, FORUMS, CONFERENCES AND ASSEMBLIES TO PROFESSIONALS. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE PROFESSIONALS INCLUDES COUNSELLORS, PSYCHOTHERAPISTS, PSYCHOLOGISTS, PSYCHIATRISTS, SUPERVISORS, HEALTH WORKERS, TEACHERS, SOCIAL WORKERS, SCHOOL GOVERNORS, SPORTS PROFESSIONALS, SUPERVISORS, PROBATION OFFICERS, POLICE AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS POTENTIALLY AFFECTED BY SEXUAL OFFENDING. 4. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF OTHER ORGANISATIONS, PROFESSIONALS AND THE PUBLIC IN THE SUBJECT OF SEXUAL OFFENDING BY TAKING PUBLIC POLICY POSITIONS ON ISSUES IN THE FIELD OF SEXUAL OFFENDING, AND RAISING AWARENESS THROUGH PROVIDING AN INFORMATION SERVICE AND RESOURCES. 5. THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION RELATED TO A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF NON NORMATIVE SEXUAL ATTRACTION, SEXUAL OFFENDING AND SEXUAL RE-OFFENDING BY CARRYING OUT RESEARCH INTO ALL RELATED AREAS INCLUDING CAUSES, TREATMENTS AND PREVENTION. 6. TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE COMMITTED A SEXUAL OFFENCE FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR SUCH PEOPLE TO LIVE LAW-ABIDING AND NON-OFFENDING LIVES AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY. 7. TO FURTHER SUCH OTHER PURPOSES RELATED TO SEXUAL OFFENDING AND SEXUALLY TROUBLING THOUGHTS WHICH MAY BE CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES AS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT FROM TIME TO TIME.
