Charitable objects
THE CHARITY’S OBJECTS (OBJECTS) ARE SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED TO THE FOLLOWING: A) TO PREVENT AND RELIEVE POVERTY, AND TO PROTECT THE VULNERABLE, INCLUDING THROUGH HUMANITARIAN INTERVENTION; B) TO PREVENT OR RELIEVE SICKNESS, DISEASE OR HUMAN SUFFERING AND TO SAVE LIVES; AND C) THE RELIEF OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR OTHER DISADVANTAGE, AMONGST THE POOREST POPULATIONS WORLDWIDE, PARTICULARLY IN (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) SOUTH ASIA, AND PARTICULARLY, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE VICTIMS OF NATURAL DISASTERS, THROUGH THE PROVISION OF MEDICAL CARE, EQUIPMENT AS NECESSARY FOR ACCOMMODATING THE POOR OR SICK, FOOD, ACCESS TO CLEAN DRINKING WATER, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE BY WAY OF GRANTS TO ORGANISATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS AND / OR SUCH OTHER EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE MEANS AS THE CHARITY CONSIDERS APPROPRIATE. NOTHING IN THE ARTICLES SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CHARITY FOR PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND/OR SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
