THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS: (1) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROMOTING HIGHER EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS IN THE UK WHO ARE CONSIDERING ATTENDING UNIVERSITY, INCLUDING UNIVERSITY IN THE UNITED STATES BY: (A) PROVIDING INFORMATION TO STUDENTS IN THE UK WHO ARE CONSIDERING ATTENDING HARVARD UNIVERSITY IN THE US; (B) PROVIDING BOOKS OR OTHER PRIZES OR EMOLUMENTS TO A-LEVEL (OR EQUIVALENT) STUDENTS IN THE UK WHO HAVE ACHIEVED ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND MAY BE CONSIDERING APPLYING FOR ADMISSION TO A UNIVERSITY FOR FURTHER STUDY; (C) PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR STUDENTS IN THE UK WHO HAVE BEEN ADMITTED TO HARVARD UNIVERSITY AND SEEK TO VISIT THE UNIVERSITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DECIDING WHETHER OR NOT TO ATTEND; (D) PROVIDING OTHER ASSISTANCE, FINANCIAL OR OTHERWISE, FOR STUDENTS IN THE UK WHO ARE CONSIDERING APPLYING, OR HAVE APPLIED, FOR ADMISSION TO HARVARD UNIVERSITY; AND (E) DOING SUCH OTHER THINGS OR PROVIDING SUCH OTHER ASSISTANCE TO STUDENTS OR OTHERS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING HIGHER EDUCATION GENERALLY AND ATTENDANCE AT HARVARD UNIVERSITY BY STUDENTS FROM THE UK. (2) TO FURTHER THE EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER CHARITABLE WORK OF HARVARD UNIVERSITY (THAT IS CHARITABLE UNDER ENGLISH LAW) IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: (A) PROVIDING IT WITH FINANCIAL SUPPORT; (B) ENCOURAGING PUBLIC SERVICE ACTIVITIES OF ALL KINDS BY HARVARD STUDENTS OR ITS ALUMNI IN THE UK; AND (C) PROVIDING HARVARD ALUMNI IN THE UK WITH ACCESS TO THE INTELLECTUAL, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL RESOURCES OF HARVARD UNIVERSITY.
