THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: (1) POVERTY: TO RELIEF OF POVERTY AND FINANCIAL HARDSHIP FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD (PARTICULARLY FOR PEOPLE IN THE GAMBIA) BY: (A) PROVIDING GRANTS, ITEMS AND SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS IN NEED AND/OR CHARITIES, OR OTHER ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO PREVENT OR RELIEVE POVERTY IN THESE AREAS. (B) PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, HEALTHCARE PROJECTS AND ALL THE NECESSARY SUPPORT DESIGNED TO RELIEVE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AND ENABLE INDIVIDUALS TO GENERATE A SUSTAINABLE INCOME AND BE SELF-SUFFICIENT AND LIVE HEALTHILY. (C) PROVIDING FINANCIAL AND MORAL SUPPORT DURING BEREAVEMENTS TO ANYONE, EITHER LIVING IN THE UK AND OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD, DEEMED BY THE ASSOCIATION TO HAVE SUCH NEED.
