Charitable objects
THE INCOME AND PROPERTY OF THE CIO SHALL BE APPLIED FOR THE PURPOSES SET OUT BELOW FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED IN SOUTH AFRICA IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 25 WHO ARE ORPHANED, ABANDONED, ABUSED, OTHERWISE VULNERABLE OR AFFECTED/INFECTED BY/WITH HIV/AIDS: (1) THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED BY REASON OF YOUTH, AGE, ILL-HEALTH, DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR OTHER DISADVANTAGE BY IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE PROVISION OF, OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF (A) ACCOMMODATION AND RELATED AMENITIES; (B) CARE AND UPBRINGING, (C) FOOD, CLOTHING AND OTHER LIFE ESSENTIALS; AND (D) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE; (2) THE ADVANCEMENT OF HEALTH BY IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF SICKNESS, DISEASE OR HUMAN SUFFERING; (3) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION BY IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE PROVISION OF, OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF (A) AFTER SCHOOL ACADEMIC TUTORING PROGRAMMES, (B) BOOKS, EQUIPMENT AND OTHER LEARNING MATERIALS AND (C) TRAINING IN LIFE SKILLS; AND (4) THE PROVISION, OR ASSISTANCE IN THE PROVISION, OF FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE INFIRMITY OR DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE; IN SUCH WAYS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, BY SUPPORTING THE SOUTH AFRICAN NON PROFIT ORGANISATION CALLED 'EMASITHANDANE CHILDREN'S ORGANISATION' REGISTERED PURSUANT TO THE NONPROFIT ORGANISATION ACT 1997 (SOUTH AFRICA), REGISTRATION NUMBER 035-910-NPO.
