THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO PROMOTE THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF THE PEOPLE OF BUCKINGHAMSHIRE WHO THROUGH DISABILITY, ILL HEALTH, AGE OR SOCIAL OR ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES REQUIRE ASSISTANCE TO ACCESS THE SERVICES THEY NEED IN ORDER TO CONTINUE TO LIVE COMFORTABLY AND SAFELY IN THEIR OWN HOMES, AND IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY: (1) PROVIDING INFORMATION, ADVICE, SUPPORT AND COMMUNITY ADVOCACY; (2) PROVIDING SUPPORT TO DEVELOP AND ESTABLISH PEER GROUPS AND FACILITATE SELF-ADVOCACY
