Charitable objects
2.1.1 TO PROMOTE AND ADVANCE HUMAN RIGHTS (AS SET OUT IN THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND SUBSEQUENT UNITED NATIONS CONVENTIONS AND DECLARATIONS), INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PROMOTING AND ADVANCING THE HUMAN RIGHT OF FREEDOM OF THOUGHT, CONSCIENCE AND RELIGION, AS SET OUT IN ARTICLE 18 OF THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS, THROUGHOUT THE WORLD BY ALL OR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING MEANS: (A) MONITORING ABUSES OF HUMAN RIGHTS; (B) MONITORING COMPLIANCE WITH INTERNATIONAL AND DOMESTIC HUMAN RIGHTS STANDARDS; (C) COMMISSIONING, PRODUCING OR CONDUCTING RESEARCH AND OTHER MATERIALS INTO HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES AND PUBLISHING THE USEFUL RESULTS; (D) EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS; (E) PROMOTING RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS AMONG GOVERNMENT ENTITIES, PUBLIC AUTHORITIES, CORPORATIONS, OTHER ACTORS AND INDIVIDUALS. (F) PROVIDING TECHNICAL ADVICE AND BRIEFINGS TO GOVERNMENT ENTITIES, PUBLIC AUTHORITIES, CORPORATIONS, INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND OTHER ACTORS ON HUMAN RIGHTS MATTERS; (G) CONTRIBUTING TO THE SOUND ADMINISTRATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS LAW; (H) COMMENTING ON PROPOSED HUMAN RIGHTS LEGISLATION AND POLICY DEVELOPMENTS; (I) RAISING AWARENESS OF HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES; (J) INTERNATIONAL ADVOCACY OF HUMAN RIGHTS; (K) PROMOTING PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS; AND (L) PROMOTING THE ELIMINATION OF INFRINGEMENTS OF HUMAN RIGHTS. 2.1.2 IN FURTHERANCE OF THE OBJECTS BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE TRUSTEES SHALL HAVE POWER TO ENGAGE IN POLITICAL ACTIVITY PROVIDED THAT THE TRUSTEES ARE SATISFIED THAT THE PROPOSED ACTIVITIES WILL FURTHER THE PURPOSES OF THE CHARITY TO AN EXTENT JUSTIFIED BY THE RESOURCES COMMITTED AND THE ACTIVITY IS NOT THE DOMINANT MEANS BY WHICH THE CHARITY CARRIED OUT ITS OBJECTS.
