MEMORANDUM AND ARTICLES INCORPORATED 29 SEP 2016 AS AMENDED BY SPECIAL RESOLUTION REGISTERED AT COMPANIES HOUSE ON 22 MAR 2017
Charitable objects
2.1 THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ARE: 2.1.1 THE ADVANCEMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND CONSERVATION OF THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, PARTICULARLY BY PROMOTING THE REDUCTION OF GREENHOUSE GASES (INCLUDING CARBON DIOXIDE, METHANE AND ANY OTHER GASES THAT MAY BE IDENTIFIED FROM TIME TO TIME AS HAVING A GLOBAL WARMING POTENTIAL); 2.1.2 TO PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC BY THE PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABLE MEANS OF ACHIEVING ECONOMIC GROWTH AND REGENERATION; 2.1.3 TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN SUBJECTS RELATING TO GLOBAL WARMING, CLIMATE CHANGE, SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND THE PROTECTION, ENHANCEMENT AND REHABILITATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND TO PROMOTE STUDY AND RESEARCH IN SUCH SUBJECTS PROVIDED THAT THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH STUDY ARE DISSEMINATED TO THE PUBLIC AT LARGE; AND 2.1.4 SUCH OTHER OBJECTS, AS SHALL BE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE BY THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL DECIDE. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT MEANS DEVELOPMENT WHICH MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE PRESENT WITHOUT COMPROMISING THE ABILITY OF FUTURE GENERATIONS TO MEET THEIR OWN NEEDS. 2.2 NOTHING IN THESE ARTICLES SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CHARITY FOR PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
