THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ("THE OBJECTS") ARE: FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, THE ADVANCEMENT OF SECULAR EDUCATION, LITERACY AND NUMERACY IN ANY PART OF THE WORLD (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE UNITED KINGDOM, FRANCE, ZIMBABWE, SOUTH AFRICA, CARIBBEAN, SOUTH AMERICA, LATIN AMERICA, EGYPT AND ISRAEL)FOR YOUNG PEOPLE FROM DISADVANTAGED OR LOW INCOME BACKGROUNDS BY: - MAKING GRANTS TO SCHOOLS, EDUCATIONAL ORGANISATIONS, OTHER CHARITIES OR NGOS; - SUPPORTING UNIVERSITY 'WIDENING PARTICIPATION' PROGRAMS TO ENCOURAGE STUDENTS FROM DISADVANTAGED OR LOW INCOME FAMILIES TO ATTEND UNIVERSITY EDUCATION; - MAKING SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES FOR STUDENTS TO ATTEND UNIVERSITY EDUCATION; - SUPPORTING LITERACY AND NUMERACY PROGRAMS IN PRE-SCHOOL AND OUT OF SCHOOL EDUCATION; AND - SUPPORTING ORGANISATIONS THAT PROMOTE THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE. NOTHING IN THIS DEED SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CHARITY FOR PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEES INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND/OR SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
