Charitable objects
TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE AREA OF THE NORTH PENNINES IN THE HISTORY OF LEAD MINING AND MINERAL EXTRACTION, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: A) CO-OPERATING WITH AND ASSISTING DURHAM COUNTY COUNCIL, HISTORICAL AND HERITAGE ORGANISATIONS AND THE PUBLIC IN THE PRESERVATION, PROTECTION AND DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE MUSEUM AT KILLHOPE AND OTHER SITES OF HISTORICAL INTEREST CONNECTED WITH THE INDUSTRY. (A) PROMOTING RESEARCH INTO SUBJECTS DIRECTLY CONNECTED WITH THE OBJECT OF THE SOCIETY AND PUBLISHING THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT. (B) ACQUIRING, REPAIRING, RENOVATING, RESTORING, REBUILDING AND GENERALLY PROMOTING THE PRESERVATION OF ANY BUILDINGS, LAND OR ARTEFACTS CONNECTED WITH THE INDUSTRY. (C) MAKING SUCH ARRANGEMENTS AS ARE NECESSARY TO ENABLE THE PUBLIC TO VIEW AND ENJOY ANY BUILDINGS CONNECTED WITH THE INDUSTRY (WHETHER FREE OR AT CHARGE.) (D) PUBLISHING BOOKS, PAPERS, REPORTS AND OTHER LITERATURE.
