Charitable objects
3.1 THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: I. THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APOSTLE'S CREED AND THE STATEMENT OF FOUNDATIONAL TRUTHS OUTLINED IN THE SCHEDULE IN SUCH WAYS AAND IN SUCH PARTS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OR THE WORLD AS THE TRUSTEES FROM TIME TO TIME MAY THINK FIT INCLUDING BY CARRYING OUT EVANGELISM, DICIPLESHIP AND CHRISTIAN MISSIONARY WORK LOCALLY TO BLACKBURN, NATIONALLY THROUGHOUT THE UNITED KINGDOM AND ABROAD, AND II. THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD BY PROVIDING: A. GRANTS, ITEMS AND SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS IN NEED AND/OR CHARITIES, OR OTHER ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO PREVENT OR RELIEVE POVERTY BY PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF EMERGENCY AID, EDUCATION, TRAINING, HEALTHCARE PROJECTS AND ALL THE NECESSARY SUPPORT DESIGNED TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS TO GENERATE A SUSTAINABLE INCOME AND BE SELF SUFFICIENT. B. GRANTS TO ENABLE DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE AND FAMILIES TO PARTICIPATE IN HEALTHY RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES THAT THEY COULD NOT OTHERWISE AFFORD. 3.2 THE TRUSTEES MUST USE THE INCOME AND MAY USE THE CAPITAL OF THE CIO IN PROMOTING THE OBJECTS.
