WRUK will offer shelter or sanctuary for animals which are in need of medical attention; providing medical treatment for animals; actively seeking new homes for rescued animals. To rescue and to provide sanctuary to Westies, Westie Crossbreeds and other small Terriers in the UK that have been abandoned, lost, neglected, mistreated or are no longer able to remain with their previous owners.

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE CIO ARE: (1) FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT WESTIE RESCUE UK (WRUK) WILL, RELIEVE THE SUFFERING OF DOGS IN NEED OF CARE AN ATTENTION, PARTICULARLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY WEST HIGHLAND WHITE TERRIERS (WESTIE'S), BY PROVIDING AND MAINTAINING RESCUE HOMES OR OTHER FACILITIES FOR THE RECEPTION, CARE AND TREATMENT OF SUCH ANIMALS. (2) TO PROMOTE HUMANE BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS ANIMALS BY PROVIDING APPROPRIATE CARE, PROTECTION, TREATMENT AND SECURITY FOR ANIMALS WHICH ARE IN NEED OF CARE AND ATTENTION BY REASON OF SICKNESS, MALTREATMENT, POOR CIRCUMSTANCES OR ILL USAGE AND TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC IN MATTERS PERTAINING TO ANIMAL WELFARE IN GENERAL AND THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY AND SUFFERING AMONG ANIMALS.
