FOR THE PURPOSE OF RELIEVING EX-SERVICEMEN OR WOMEN AND THEIR DEPENDANTS WHO ARE IN NECESSITOUS CIRCUMSTANCES IN PARTICULAR BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY CLOTHING OR OTHERWISE TO OR FOR THE BENEFIT OF SUCH PERSONS BY ARRANGING FOR THEM TO BE VISITED IN HOSPITALS OR OTHER PLACES WHERE THEY ARE FROM TIME TO TIME RESIDING OR UNDERGOING TREATMENT AND BY ARRANGING HOLIDAYS FOR THEM AND FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE WHICH MAY RELIEVE HARDSHIP AND DISTRESS.
