THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT OF THOSE LIVING IN THE AREA LOCAL TO ROSLISTON (IN THE DISTRICT OF SOUTH DERBYSHIRE) AND ITS SURROUNDING AREAS OF STAFFORDSHIRE,LEICESTERSHIRE AND ADJACENT SECTIONS OF THE WEST MIDLANDS, IN BOTH THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF ASTRONOMY BY SUCH MEANS AS THE TRUSTEES THINK FIT INCLUDING: (I) PROMOTING IN GENERAL SCIENTIFIC TOPICS, BY PROVIDING FACILITIES FOR ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, IN ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATION. (II) ASSISTING ROSLISTON FORESTRY CENTRE IN THEIR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME FOR MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC, BY PROVIDING GUIDANCE, PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES, AND INFORMATION ON ALL MATTERS RELATING TO ASTRONOMY IN ITS MANY ASPECTS.
