THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: (1) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE WESTERN FRONT (BEING THE BATTLE FRONT WHICH STRETCHED FROM THE CHANNEL COAST IN THE NORTH TO THE SWISS BORDER IN THE SOUTH). (2) TO PROMOTE GOOD CITIZENSHIP FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC AT LARGE BY REMEMBERING ALL THOSE WHO GIVE THEIR LIVES IN BATTLE ALONG THE ROUTE OF THE WESTERN FRONT DURING THE FIRST WORLD WAR AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PERMANENT WAY MARKED PATH ALONG THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE WESTERN FRONT.
