TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN COPTIC MUSIC, LANGUAGE, HISTORY AND HERITAGE BY:- · RECORDING COPTIC RELIGIOUS, SOCIAL, AND POLITICAL HISTORY TO THE HIGHEST ACADEMIC STANDARDS; · PRESENTING THE COPTIC HERITAGE IN EUROPEAN AND OTHER COUNTRIES; · TRANSCRIBING COPTIC MUSIC FROM THE ORAL TRADITION INTO WESTERN NOTATION, PRESERVING THE EARLIEST MUSICAL FORMS WHERE POSSIBLE; · TEACHING SIMPLIFIED METHODS OF READING AND LEARNING COPTIC MUSIC USING WESTERN NOTATIONS; · INVESTIGATING THE ORIGINS OF COPTIC MUSIC WHERE THESE CAN BE DETERMINED; · RECORDING COPTIC MUSIC, PRESERVING THE AUTHENTICITY AND USING ORIGINAL INSTRUMENTS WHERE POSSIBLE; · ESTABLISHING THE SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING AND PRACTICE OF COPTIC HYMNOLOGY; · ENCOURAGING ORIGINAL RESEARCH IN COPTIC MUSIC AND PUBLISH THE SCIENTIFIC RESULTS IN PEER REVIEWED INTERNATIONAL JOURNALS AND CONFERENCES; · LECTURING ON COPTIC HERITAGE AND PERFORM ITS MUSIC TO PROMOTE THE AIMS OF THE ACADEMY; · TEACHING AUTHENTIC COPTIC MUSIC: VOCAL AND INSTRUMENTAL AS WELL AS COPTIC MUSICAL THEORY; · PORTRAYING THE SCIENTIFIC, THEOLOGICAL AND SPIRITUAL POWER IN COPTIC ICONOGRAPHY, AND INVESTIGATING ITS ORIGINS WHERE POSSIBLE; · DOCUMENTING ALL OTHER ASPECTS OF COPTIC HERITAGE; · MAKING THE INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO ALL, EITHER FREE OR AT REASONABLE COST, AND TO PUBLICISE ITS EXISTENCE IN ENGLISH AND ARABIC; · PROMOTING THE TRANSLATION OF COPTIC THEOLOGICAL, MUSICAL, SPIRITUAL AND HISTORICAL HERITAGE INTO DIFFERENT EUROPEAN LANGUAGES; AND · PROMOTING ECUMENICAL ACTIVITIES, PARTICULARLY WITH OTHER BRANCHES OF THE ORTHODOX CHURCH, TO FOSTER UNITY AND GREATER UNDERSTANDING OF EACH OTHER’S HERITAGE.
