Charitable objects
The objects of the Charity are to: a) Promote religion in accordance with the tenets and doctrines of the Islamic faith as understood and accepted by the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah; b) Promote education and teaching of the Islamic faith for the benefit of the Muslim and wider community; c) Promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of Muslim and wider community in Redbridge and the surrounding area – particularly for the relief of poverty, distress and sickness; d) Provide and assist in the provision of facilities for the spiritual, physical and emotional well being of the Muslim community with an objective to improve their quality of life. In furtherance of the above objects – but not further – or otherwise, the Charity shall have the following powers: a) To provide facilities for religious worship, religious education, marriages, funerals and social activities b) To arrange lectures, meetings, seminars and educational activities in accordance with the Islamic Shari’ah and the creed of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah’ with an emphasis on the Hanafi school of jurisprudence (fiqh) – but not precluding the other three schools i.e. Maliki, Shafi’l and Hanbali; c) To acquire, provide and maintain suitable premises, land and constructions to improve buildings therein for use as a masjid – madrasah – for the Charity; d) To carry out all such lawful and halal activities as shall further the objects of the Charity; (2) To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life; (3) To relieve financial hardship, distress and suffering among poor people, homeless, refugees and other people in need, by means of, but not exclusively, provision or assistance in the provision of food and basic necessities for the benefit of the said persons.
