TO PROMOTE HUMAN RIGHTS (AS SET OUT IN THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS 1948) AND SUBSEQUENT UNITED NATIONS CONVENTIONS AND DECLARATIONS AND IN REGIONAL CODES OF HUMAN RIGHTS WHICH INCORPORATE THE RIGHTS CONTAINED IN THE UDHR AND THOSE SUBSEQUENT CONVENTIONS AND DECLARATIONS) FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, BY ALL OR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING MEANS: - MONITORING ABUSES OF HUMAN RIGHTS RELATED TO BUSINESS ACTIVITY; - PROMOTING THE RIGHT TO REDRESS FOR THE VICTIMS OF HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE; - RESEARCHING THE IMPACTS OF BUSINESS ON HUMAN RIGHTS; - PROVIDING TECHNICAL ADVICE TO GOVERNMENT AND OTHERS ON BUSINESS IMPACTS ON HUMAN RIGHTS; - COMMENTING ON PROPOSED LEGISLATION AND GOVERNMENT POLICY IN RELATION TO BUSINESS AND HUMAN RIGHTS; - RAISING AWARENESS OF THE IMPACTS OF BUSINESS ON HUMAN RIGHTS; - PROMOTING PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR THE RIGHTS OF COMMUNITIES AND INDIVIDUALS WHOSE HUMAN RIGHTS ARE ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY BUSINESS ACTIVITY; - PROMOTING RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS BY BUSINESSES; AND - INTERNATIONAL ADVOCACY IN RELATION TO BUSINESS AND HUMAN RIGHTS.
