THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: 1. THE ADVANCEMENT OF SCIENCE AND SPREAD OF SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT PARTICULARLY IN THE FIELD OF WOODY PLANTS AND RELATED BOTANY. 2. THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION PARTICULARLY IN THE FIELD OF BOTANY AND BOTANICAL RESEARCH BY ANY CHARITABLE MEANS, INCLUDING BY THE PUBLICATION AND DISSEMINATION OF THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH AND BY THE PROVISION OF SCHOLARSHIPS, GRANTS OR BURSARIES FOR THE STUDY OF BOTANY AND BY THE PROMOTION OF STUDY THROUGH VISITS TO FORESTS, WOODS, GARDENS AND PLANTATIONS IN ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD FOR BOTANICAL STUDY AND DEBATE. 3. THE ADVANCEMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT THROUGH THE CULTIVATION, PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF RARE AND ENDANGERED SPECIES, VARIETIES AND CULTIVARS OF WOODY PLANTS IN ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD. 4. SUCH OTHER EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE OBJECTS AND EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES AS ARE NORMALLY UNDERTAKEN BY THE CIO BY THE APPLICATION OF FUNDS DISPOSABLE BY THEM FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES.
