Charitable objects
THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS ("OBJECTS") ARE SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED TO THE FOLLOWING: (A) FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, THE PRESERVATION, RESTORATION, REPAIR, MAINTENANCE, IMPROVEMENT AND BEAUTIFICATION OF THE HISTORIC GRADE 2 LISTED BUILDING KNOWN AS ST GILES CHURCH, ST JOHNS GREEN, COLCHESTER IN THE COUNTY OF ESSEX, AND ALSO ITS CHURCHYARD AND ITS ASSOCIATED STRUCTURES, AND PROPERTIES WHICH ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE TRUSTEES, (INCLUDING BUT NOT BY WAY OF LIMITATION ANY BOUNDARIES, PATHS, ACCESSES, FENCES, AND WALLS); AND THE MONUMENTS, FITTINGS, FIXTURES, ORNAMENTS, ARTEFACTS AND CHATTELS OF THE CHURCH PROPERTIES, WHEREBY IN THIS DOCUMENT THE CHURCH, CHURCHYARD, AND OTHER SUCH STRUCTURES, BUILDINGS AND PROPERTIES ARE TOGETHER CALLED “THE CHURCH PROPERTIES” (B) TO ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION IN THE SUBJECTS OF THE CHURCH, ITS PROPERTIES AND HISTORY AND THE HISTORY, HERITAGE AND CULTURE OF THE LOCAL AREA (C) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND PROMOTE ARTS, CULTURE AND HERITAGE BY THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A MUSEUM AND/OR ART GALLERY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC. (D) TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN A MUSEUM AND/OR ART GALLERY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC. (E) TO FURTHER SUCH OTHER PURPOSES AS ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE UNDER THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES AS THE TRUSTEES DETERMINE IN PARTICULAR BY LETTING SPACE TO CHARITIES OR COMMUNITY GROUPS TO SUPPORT THEIR CHARITABLE PURPOSES”
