TO PROMOTE THE PERMANENT PRESERVATIONS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC GENERALLY AND ESPECIALLY THE INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF DOVERIDGE LANDS AND BUILDINGS OF BEAUTY OR HISTORIC INTEREST AND AS REGARDS LANDS OF ECOLOGICAL OR OTHER SCIENTIFIC IMPORTANCE WITHIN THE PARISH AND GENERALLY, TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE THE CHARACTER AND AMENITIES OF THE PARISH.
