1. TO PRESERVE, PROTECT, RESTORE AND MAINTAIN FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT "VANGUARD", WHICH WAS LAUNCHED AT BURNHAM-ON-CROUCH IN 1937 AND WHICH PARTICIPATED IN THE EVACUATION FROM DUNKIRK IN 1940 2. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN MARITIME SKILLS, THE DUNKIRK LITTLE SHIPS IN GENERAL AND IN PARTICULAR THE ROLE PLAYED BY THE VESSELS THAT TRAVELLED FROM BURNHAM-ON-CROUCH AS PART OF THE EVACUATION FROM DUNKIRK
