Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO FURTHER SUCH PURPOSES AS ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES AS THE TRUSTEES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME DETERMINE, AND IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING) TO FURTHER THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES: (1) THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED, BY REASON OF ILL-HEALTH, DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, HOMELESSNESS, BEING VICTIMS OF TRAFFICKING, IMPRISONMENT, ALCOHOL AND /OR DRUG ABUSE OR OTHER DISADVANTAGE (2) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION (3) THE RELIEF OF POVERTY (4) THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
