Charitable objects
1. FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, THE PROMOTION OF THE RELIEF AND REHABILITATION OF PRISONERS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM PRISON ESTATE, OF EX-OFFENDERS AND OF PEOPLE AT RISK OF OFFENDING BY (BUT NOT LIMITED TO): (A) ENABLING THE PROVISION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF GENDER-RESPONSIVE AND TRAUMA-INFORMED PRACTICE WITHIN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM; (B) THE PROVISION OF A COMMUNITY-BASED CENTRE OR CENTRES OFFERING ACCOMMODATION (INCLUDING TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION) SPECIALIST SERVICES AND OPPORTUNITIES TO ENGAGE IN WORK ACTIVITIES EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO WOMEN (AND THEIR CHILDREN) WHO ARE IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM OR WHO ARE AT RISK OF OFFENDING OR RE-OFFENDING; ‘TRAUMA INFORMED PRACTICE’ MEANS AN APPROACH, ENCOMPASSING STAFF, RESIDENTS IN PRISONS AND THE WIDER COMMUNITY, WHICH RECOGNISES AND ACKNOWLEDGES TRAUMA AND ITS PREVALENCE ALONGSIDE AWARENESS AND SENSITIVITY TO ITS DYNAMICS. 2. THE PROMOTION OF SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PREVENTING PEOPLE FROM BECOMING SOCIALLY EXCLUDED, RELIEVING THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED AND ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE ‘SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PART OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF CRIME AS AN OFFENDER REHABILITATING INTO SOCIETY.
