1.TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE FORMER BOROUGH OF CHESTERFIELD AS IT SUBSISTED IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO 1ST APRIL 1974 BY GATHERING TOGETHER, CATALOGUING, PRESERVING AND DISPLAYING ARTEFACTS AND DOCUMENTS RELATING TO THE HISTORY OF CHESTERFIELD SCHOOL AND ITS FORMER PUPILS SO THAT PEOPLE IN THE SCHOOL'S HISTORICAL CATCHMENT AREA CAN LEARN ABOUT THE SCHOOL'S LONG HISTORY AND THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF SOME OF ITS DISTINGUISHED PUPILS. 2.TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATION OF PERSONS OVER 11 YEARS OF AGE BUT WHO HAVE NOT ATTAINED THE AGE OF 21 YEARS WHO ARE IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND WHO MAY ATTEND, ARE ATTENDING OR HAVE ATTENDED A SCHOOL IN THE SAID FORMER BOROUGH IN SUCH WAYS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES THINK FIT INCLUDING BY A.AWARDING TO SUCH PERSONS SCHOLARSHIPS, PRIZES, MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES OR GRANTS TENABLE AT ANY INSTITUTION OF HIGHER OR FURTHER EDUCATION B.PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF THEIR EDUCATION INCLUDING THE STUDY OF MUSIC OR OTHER ARTS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF SPORTING ABILITIES.
