Activities - how the charity spends its money

Sunscreen IT Foundation is there to provide access to IT services for all who need it. This year the charity has focussed mainly on supporting its existing project in Ghana and beginning a new deployment in Sierra Leone working with the charity Lifeline, supporting the fitting and technical assistance of their new IT Lab. The project was completed in February and support is now being maintained.

THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ARE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC: (1) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND DEVELOP THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CAPACITY AND SKILLS OF YOUNG PEOPLE, FROM SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES IN BOTH THE UNITED KINGDOM AND INTERNATIONALLY; (2) TO PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT BY RAISING AWARENESS OF ELECTRONIC WASTE (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IT HARDWARE, PERIPHERALS AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT RELATING TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY) AND TO CHAMPION THE RESPONSIBLE RECYCLING AND DISPOSAL OF SUCH EQUIPMENT TO REDUCE ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE.
