THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO PROMOTE HUMANE BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS ANIMALS IN CYPRUS, AND TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC IN MATTERS PERTAINING TO ANIMAL WELFARE IN GENERAL AND THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY AND SUFFERING AMONG ANIMALS, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: A) OPERATING AN ANIMAL SHELTER IN CYPRUS PROVIDING FACILITIES FOR THE RECEPTION AND APPROPRIATE CARE, PROTECTION, TREATMENT AND SECURITY OF ANIMALS WHICH ARE IN NEED OF CARE AND ATTENTION BY REASONS OF SICKNESS, MALTREATMENT, POOR CIRCUMSTANCES OR ILL USAGE; B) THE PROVISION OF EQUIPMENT OR GRANTS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO ORGANISATIONS WHOM THE TRUSTEES CONSIDER TO BE MAKING A SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTION TO ANIMAL WELFARE IN CYPRUS THROUGH REHABILITATION, RESCUE AND/OR VETERINARY CARE AND THE PROVISION OF SPAY AND NEUTER CAMPAIGNS, MICROCHIP PROGRAMS AND EDUCATIONAL AND AWARENESS PROGRAMS. C) REPORTING TRANSGRESSIONS IN THE LAW ON ANIMAL WELFARE TO THE RELEVANT AUTHORITIES IN CYPRUS.
